I Remember Papa by Helen Ketteman illustrated by Greg Shed**

I read this aloud to my boys to model and practice using senses to visualize the story.
What a sweet story about a father and his son and the kindness and respect they show to each other!
Audie's father gives him a quarter each week in exchange for help around the farm.  Some day Audie hopes to buy a baseball glove.
One day his father surprises him by taking him to town to watch a baseball game and buy some work boots for himself.  Audie brings along his savings and spies a baseball glove in a storefront window.  During the game Audie loses his savings and is devastated.

**Highly, highly recommend.
Strategies: visualizing, predicting, character traits, inferences
-Borrowed from the library.
