Marvel Miles Morales Spider-Man by Jason Reynolds

Miles Morales', a student at the prestigious Brooklyn Visions Academy, spidey-sense is acting wacky, especially when he is around his degrading history teacher.  Then the nightmares begin and he realizes there is a sinister plot to imprison him and his Harlem neighborhood and family.
A mixture of humor, science-fiction and even romance make this novel an unique read.
I had a preconceived notion what this book would be like . . .the typical spider man swinging from buildings, saving people from criminals.  But this novel focuses on Miles questioning how  he will utilize his ability and also being able to separate himself from his family's sordid past.
The library has it categorized as "young adult" for good reasons . . . see warnings.
Warning/point to discuss: swearing, reference to "nut fuzz", references to physical interactions with girls, quite a bit of violence, racial agenda, individuals in prison, stealing
Apparently in December,  2018, there will be animated film featuring Mile Morales.
