Lessons from the Hoghouse by Elizabeth Clark

A Barnyard Memoir
One Woman's Guide to Building Her Country Dream in a World of Ghosts, Manure, Metal Men, and Groundhog Hunters
I read about Ms. Clark in a local specialized newspaper and immediately requested her book.
Her style of writing made me laugh many times!  Humor underlines all of her stories even in challenging times.   She is clever with her word choice, sentence structures and story development.  To put it simply, this book was fun to read and made me want to write like her!
Ms. Clark, a single New Jersey girl, bought a "fixer upper" farm and relates her journey to make it inhabitable in an entertaining style.  She also introduces the reader to interesting local lore and characters.
Warning/things to consider:  This is an adult book but adults may find the following offensive-occasional swearing, a chapter dedicated to paranormal activity plus ghost encounters scattered throughout the book, drinking.
-Borrowed from the library.
