I Survived #18 The Battle of D-Day, 1944 by Lauren Tarshis illustrated by Scott Dawson*

Paul, an eleven year old French boy, lives in France during the Nazi occupation.  As he is out in the countryside, he discovers an American paratrooper stuck in a tree.  To save him from the approaching Nazi soldiers, Paul takes him to an old castle where no one ventures.  At the castle, Paul discovers a resistance group. He realizes everyone, not matter their age, can make a difference to stop evil.
Exciting and perfect for reluctant readers, especially boys!
Additional facts and information are included after the story.
*Highly recommend for reluctant readers.
Carefully researched by Ms. Tarshis, as always.
-Borrowed from the library.
