Motor Mouse by Cynthia Rylant illustrated by Arthur Howard*

What an adorable book!  I love this author-illustrator team (the ones who gave us Mr. Putter and Tabby).
Three chapters share Motor Mouse's little adventures.

In Chapter One Motor Mouse and his friend Telly (an otter) are devastated when their cake shop is closed on Friday.  Friday is their cake day!!  A new friend broadens their world when he introduces them to pie!

In Chapter Two Motor Mouse enjoys a taxi ride and forms a new friendship.

In Chapter Three Motor Mouse and his brother Valentino settle their differences concerning popcorn at their weekly Friday movie outing.

A perfect book to read aloud to toddlers/preschoolers who are ready to hear longer books.
I would highly recommend this book for transitional readers who are building stamina and developing fluency.
*Highly recommend.
