The Donkey's Dream by Barbara Helen Berger

As the donkey carries a heavy load to Bethlehem, he dreams he is carrying a city, angels, a fountain, a rose, a ship, a lady full of heaven.  He later discovers he was carrying Mary, the mother of Christ.  All of these objects symbolize Mary.
This book definitely exalts Mary, not Christ.
