Step into Reading A Step 3 Book Grades 2-3
After my eight year old and I read about the 21 elephants crossing the Brooklyn Bridge when it was first built, I found this book for him to read to strengthen his schema about Jumbo.
He read it to himself and enjoyed learning about the life of Jumbo. The book relates how Jumbo was captured , transformed into a circus elephant and how he died an untimely death.
Children will love learning how much he ate each day!
Point to discuss: It mentions how Jumbo was ready to mate.
A delightful book!
