I wonder how many people investigate who designed the Vietnam Veterans Memorial?!
This book takes the reader to Maya Lin's childhood home and then progresses until she is in college when she enters the contest to design the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The book also elaborates how the memorial was erected.
I like the breadth and depth of this book-intimate knowledge about Maya's growing up years, details about the contest, people's reaction to Maya as a winner and her design and then the construction of it and lastly, her later endeavors.
