Not wanting to adhere to her teacher's request, she skips the second day of school by hiding in a tree. An elderly woman, Mrs. Pennypocket, shows her how the tree she is squatting in is a fairy tree. With Mrs. Pennypocket's kind help and acceptance, Piper soon embraces the change in her life.
