The Terrible Plop by Ursula Dubosarsky illustrated by Andrew Joyner

Rabbit is terrified when he hears a loud "plop" into the lake.  He calls it the "terrible plop" and frightens the rest of the animals out of the woods.  The animals follow him mindlessly until they come upon a large bear.  The bear scoffs at their fear and returns to the lake to take care of this "terrible plop".
A fun ending!
Strategies: predicting, connections (T-T-connect to Chicken Little)/compare/contrast
