The Fisherman by Larry Huntsperger*

Peter is my favorite disciple.  At times he could be rash and impulsive.  He made mistakes.  In other words, I can relate to him!
Mr. Huntsperger takes the accounts of Peter's life from the Scriptures and creates an unforgettable historical fiction novel.
The Prologue begins with Peter in jail, awaiting his beheading.  During his wait, he decides to write about his life with Christ and the twenty-seven chapters follow.  Although the novel chronologically follows Peter's years with Christ, from the time he first sees Christ and until Christ's return, the focus of the novel is man's inner battle with pride/surrender and the loving, gentle yet powerful person of Christ.
This novel will touch your soul and cause you to evaluate how you perceive Christ and your life in Him.   I wished I owned it because I would have had highlighted many thought-provoking phrases and sentences.
*Highly recommend.
Borrowed from the library.
